Fine Art photograph
The 8Reg'ART Group, beyond sterile and sectarian chapels of photography classifications expresses itself as being openly contemporary and could be assimilated to the international "Fine-Art" photographic trend.
But finally, what do we mean by that term?
It is clear that what we call ART is located on a supra sensitive level and we should discerne artist's will to what belongs to the realm of unspeakable, where artist is just a vector for something beyond.
Indeed, one can speak ad libitum about the "subject" of an artwork, describing the structure and rhythm, recognizing influences, citations and winks, we can talk a lot "around" but nothing can be said about the "art" this artwork contained and conveyed.
Art is what remains hidden in the work, which is essential for sure, but not definable. "Essential" is invisible for the eyes, as one will only see correctly through his/her heart. Art reflects the uniqueness of artist's soul, what surpasses it and links it to the rest of the world.
Art is this unspeakable part which is carried away into the viewer's soul in order to enrich it.
Finally Art is just a path from the visible to the invisible it is an invitation to travel…
Travelling is primarily another way to open our eyes, to look at, to cast usual means of perception in order to acquire some new ones and to be revealed different, changed, richer. This is an escape from the sclerosing banality of our daily life where words, things, landscapes or beings have lost for us their inner meaning.
Since Kerouac and his « celestial tramps » everybody is aware of the fact that what is important when you 'hit the road' is not necessarily the destination but more what is 'inhabiting" the peregrination; the faces, the encounters, the exchanged words on the edge of a path and the adventures...
The travel is a free poetic act, an invitation to poetry, to the astonishment. We are disconcerted, literally diverted from our usual route.
By a simple step aside over the straight and smooth road of our lives, we discover the road otherwise, this act so simple and trite leads us to open our eyes and enriches us new experiences.
Art photography has no other purpose and that is finally why it escapes all the usual classifications: Landscape, Macro, Nature, Stories…
Art-Photography is all of that in the mean time, depending on the photographers sensitivity, their witness of outside and inside worlds, of their consciousness to only be, after all, vectors, relays.
Thus the 8Reg'ART Group, through the work of its members has no other ambition than to invite the viewer to share an emotion, an intimate look the World…
